Half of a Whole

Staring up at the night sky Taking in the stars All the while knowing Someone's looking back at me. Perhaps, wondering, too If I am a possibility, And something within that being whispered: "Amidst those lights, she is somewhere." And I, feeling like a fool called out: "Hey! Are you there?" Only the wind answered my call, And I sighing with it, recall How I've always felt to be Half of a whole.

Follow Me

The love for love's sake Is being questioned if it's true As if we know what's true And if it's not, what do we do? The one thing I loathed and dread Has woken my spirit from the dead Sweet nothings and fickle feelings Don't necessarily equate to loving. And yet I see pieces of me in you Like how in purple there is blue, And I wonder if that is enough at all For us to tie together, our souls. But then it is certain I am tied to be With someone who says "Follow Me."
